Overview

With a softer sheen than silk emulsion, Dulux Trade Vinyl Soft Sheen is suitable for all interior walls and ceilings. It's a durable, washable paint with a fashionable mid sheen finish. Excellent coverage of up to 16m2 per litre. Not suitable for heated surfaces such as radiators. This paint will withstand normal humidity levels, however would be more suitable for kitchens and bathrooms.

Preparation

For best results, ensure surfaces to be painted are sound, clean, dry. It is particularly important that new surfaces are completely dry before you start painting.

• Remove all loose and defective paint. Special precautions should be taken during surface preparation of pre-1960s paint surfaces over wood and metal as they may contain harmful lead.
• Where necessary, wash the surface, rinse with clean water and allow to dry.

Application

Always follow the manufacturers instructions found on the tin, it is recommended that a small test area is applied before painting the entire surface to ensure compatibility. Apply in temperatures above 8°C.

• To avoid picture framing or patchiness, stir the paint thoroughly before use.
• If thinned, cutting-in and rolling paints should be to the same ratio.
• Cut in one wall at a time, then roll immediately afterwards, do not allow the cutting-in paint to dry before rolling.
• Do not cut in any more than 5 - 8cm away from any internal angles, including sockets/switches, skirting, architraves etc. Roll into the cutting-in, ensuring you roll as close to the edge as possible.
• Seal new or bare surfaces with a thinned first coat of Dulux Trade Vinyl Soft Sheen (up to 1 part clean water to 5 parts paint).
• Apply 2 full coats of Dulux Trade Vinyl Soft Sheen with a brush, roller, conventional or airless spray. For significant colour changes, additional coats may be required.
